Welcome to the cemetery
sooooo i uh injured my hand pretty bad. i was trying to cut up some chalk to trace patterns so i could make patches and the knife slipped and i cut the shit out of my fingers. i won't go into detail in case people are squeamish about it but it's not great.
anyway i had to have surgery and it was kinda 50/50 on whether i'd wake up (but that's another story) but i am alive. but my fingers remain in splints and i can't move them for 8 weeks. so it looks like i won't be playing for a while until about may (hold on til may i guess). i did take my guitar to the store and ask them to string it upside down for me (since i can't re-string it with one hand) so i can try and play left handed but until i get it back, it's kinda radio silence here for a while. not to be dramatic but i am super bummed out. i do feel like playing is like my whole purpose in this world and without it i've just been staring at the ceiling more or less. but i am excited to learn left hand ziggy stardust style
I HAVE A BRAND NEW GUITAR!!! AAAAAAND. IT'S LITERALLY MY DREAM GUITAR OF ALL TIME!! i can't believe it. she's a les paul epiphone custom in black with gold details and i think humbucker pickups.
my mother and i have a complicated relationship, but she was nice enough to sell her wedding ring (yeah that's another story) to buy me my absolute dream guitar and i'm soooo stoked. i truly can't believe i finally have this guitar. i've wanted it for so long and i'm so fucking thrilled and it still doesn't feel real.
she's so beautiful and i get awestuck every time i look at it. i've gotta figure out what to name her. i'm thinking something like the following: midnight, obsidian, elara, justice, retribution... something like that idk yet. but i couldn't be more grateful and thankful to have something so beautiful. goddddd...
oh god okay i really get to geek out here.
so i've been playing guitar for 2 years now. this all sounds kind of silly and made up and too deep but its my website so i get to put whatever i want on it. but basically i had wanted to learn to play the electric guitar since i was old enough to understand what one was. but i never got to (too poor, parents wanted me to do other stuff, etc etc). and then i fiiiiiiiinally got one. and i remember the first time i picked it up, i felt this electric pulse move from my fingertips all the way through my body. it was magical. and i thought that i would call my guitar after that, so she's named electra.
she's an sx strat kind (i'll add the exact type later on) and white and really cool. i'm pretty sure the neck is bowed but i don't mind. i love her :) (i've tried to fix the neck but i'll take her to the guitar shop to get the truss rod properly looked at when i have money and time).
i also covered her in spiderman stickers which i'll eventually take off one day. but for now i love them. and i went and saw battlesnake (a local band) and got a sticker from their show which i chucked on. my tattoo artist also gave me one of his stickers which i should put on soon. she's really cool and i love playing her
