book of shadows

so beyond music - concerts, gigs, playing, listening, analysing, i also love magic! i cast spells, do tarot readings, astrology readings, pendulum readings and that sort of thing. my dad and dadima (dad's mother) can also read palms but idrk how :(. but i think it's super fun. i don't revolve my whole life around it, but moreso take it as a guide or supportive tool. what that means is like, i wouldn't base major life decisions around something from a reading, but i'd definitely keep it in mind when moving forward. by the same token, i do cast spells, but i still put in the work myself to make those things happen. i view magic as mostly fun but also something that gives me a little boost. i have in the past cast spells that have had massive (and sometimes horrible) consequences without me even doing anything, so i try to keep it more subdued. but it's fun and i love it.

so this is just going to be my digital book of shadows until i can find the exact physical copy i want. i'm actually really excited for that! i want to get a velvet/velour style cover with those thick olde timey uneven pages. my dad gave my this really pretty quill and ink pot i want to use in it too! but for now, here is where i'll be keeping a bunch of stuff

i'm thinking i'll talk about spells and readings and then at the bottom i'll go on to organise things alphabetically and include some herbs and crystals, kinda like an index.

moon phases

new moon: clean slate, future dreams, transformation

waxing crescent: courage, advancements, deliberation, development, growth, anything you want to increase

first quarter: commitment, challenges

waxing gibbous: staying on course, adjustments, improvements

full moon: results, completion, decisions, receive

waning gibbous: relax, acceptance, regoup

last quarter: reassessment, balance

waning crescent: letting go, healing, surrender, releasing, banishing

herbs

bay leaf: prosperity, good fortune, luck, protection (for you and others!)

cardamom: love, lust, beauty, confidence, creativity, harmony
